From 2017 to 2019, LatinFlash had the privilege of collaborating with Restaurante Matiz, a distinguished dining destination within the luxurious Hotel Molina Lario in Málaga. Our role as music curators and ambient DJs was integral to crafting the restaurant’s unique auditory identity, aligning seamlessly with its sophisticated and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Music Curation & Playlist Design

Under the creative direction of Christian Montoya, Latin Flash LDA meticulously curated playlists tailored to Restaurante Matiz’s brand and ambiance. Each playlist was designed to reflect the restaurant’s elegant yet relaxed vibe, blending genres such as Chill, Lounge, Nu Jazz, Organic House, and Afro-Latin ethnic sounds. These carefully selected tracks were timed to perfection, ensuring the music complemented the dining experience throughout the day—from tranquil afternoon lunches to vibrant evening dinners.

Our collaboration with Myriam, the hotel’s director, and Macu, the hotel’s event manager, was key to defining the musical direction. Together, we ensured that the playlists resonated with Matiz’s identity and enhanced the overall guest experience.

Ambient DJ Performances: The Golden Sessions

Christian Montoya also brought his expertise as an ambient DJ to Restaurante Matiz, performing live sets on vinyl during the renowned Golden Sessions every weekend. These performances elevated the restaurant’s atmosphere, creating an unparalleled sensory experience for guests. The fusion of curated vinyl selections with live mixing techniques added a layer of authenticity and sophistication, making the Golden Sessions a highlight of Matiz’s weekly offerings.
